UW Cancer Center Johnson Creek features the latest in radiation therapy combining medical imaging, 3-D simulation, treatment beam shaping and respiratory monitoring providing cancer patients in Southeastern Wisconsin convenient access to many high-precision radiation treatments available at the UW Carbone Cancer Center without having to travel to Madison.
Varian TrueBeam Radiotherapy System
The TruBeam linear accelerator is designed to deliver high-energy radiation to treat tumors deep within the body allowing clinic staff to capture images to compare to the patient's treatment plan to ensure accuracy. The radiation therapy machine in Johnson Creek is expertly matched to the TrueBeam machines at University Hospital in Madison. If a patient being treated at Johnson Creek becomes very ill and needs to go to University Hospital, they will be able to continue radiation treatments there without delay.
